server-track-lab vs Elevar (Audiense Online) for server-side conversion tracking
By Canada Site Ops · Pricing, branding and destination docs checked Oct 21, 2026 on official pages · Sources linked inline
Elevar is one of the best-known server-side tracking tools for Shopify stores. server-track-lab is a small, developer-first conversion API for B2B SaaS teams. Both get conversions to Meta, Google and LinkedIn from a server instead of a browser pixel, but they start from very different places: Elevar starts from your store's checkout, server-track-lab starts from a POST request your backend makes. This page compares them honestly, including where Elevar is clearly the better choice.
Elevar and Audiense are trademarks of their respective owners. server-track-lab is an independent product by Canada Site Ops and is not affiliated with or endorsed by Audiense. Facts below come from their public pages on Oct 21, 2026.
First: is Elevar now "Audiense Online"?
Here is what the official pages said on Oct 21, 2026. Visiting getelevar.com redirects to audiense.com, and the old pricing URL lands on the Audiense Online pricing page, titled "Audiense Online (Elevar) Pricing & Plans"[1]. Audiense's About page says Audiense combines Elevar, Buxton and the original Audiense, and that "all legacy Elevar features and tools are still available, now as part of Audiense Online"[3]. Its July 2026 brand announcement says Elevar "will become an Audiense product name"[4], and the product page reads "Audiense Online is powered by Elevar"[2]. The documentation still lives at docs.getelevar.com under the Elevar name[5]. In short, the product line is Audiense Online, and Elevar is still the tracking product inside it. We use both names below.

Where Elevar fits better
- You run a Shopify store. Elevar's data layer captures product views, carts, checkouts and orders from Shopify for you, handles Shopify Markets, and filters exchange or historical-import orders before they reach ad platforms[1][8]. server-track-lab has no Shopify integration at all, so you would be rebuilding all of that by hand.
- You want the full ecommerce funnel, not just the purchase. Elevar sends browse and cart events with product IDs that Google and Meta use for dynamic remarketing and catalog ads. server-track-lab is built for a handful of high-value conversion events.
- You need many destinations. The pricing page lists dozens of ad, analytics, affiliate, email/SMS and warehouse destinations[1]. server-track-lab covers Meta, Google and LinkedIn only.
- You want someone to install it. Elevar offers paid expert installs and analyst retainers[1]. server-track-lab is self-serve only.
- You need Google Ads and LinkedIn in production today. Elevar documents live destinations for both[6][8]. server-track-lab is live only for Meta.
Where a developer-first, per-event API fits better
- Your conversions aren't orders. A B2B SaaS funnel is a form fill, a signup, a booked demo, a trial that converts and a Stripe subscription that renews. None of those is a Shopify order. server-track-lab takes any named event with a value and currency in one POST, and its Stripe webhook source turns checkout and invoice events into purchase and subscribe conversions.
- You aren't on Shopify. Elevar's non-Shopify path, the API framework, is listed from the Premium plan at $1,250/mo[1]. With server-track-lab, any backend that can make an HTTPS request is a supported stack, on the free tier.
- Your volume is low and lumpy. A B2B team with 300 qualified leads and 40 new subscriptions a month sends about 340 events, which is inside server-track-lab's free 1,000. Counted as orders, the same 340 would exceed Elevar's 100-order Base plan.
- You want to see every payload. Every event in the server-track-lab dashboard shows the exact request sent to Meta, or the request that would be sent to Google and LinkedIn, with event_id deduplication and SHA-256 hashing handled for you.
- Your traffic includes AI agents and automated clients. The API accepts any User-Agent, counts agent and bot calls as real usage in their own bucket next to human traffic, and bills them the same.
A worked example
Take a B2B SaaS company with 25,000 monthly visitors, 400 demo requests, 120 trial signups and 35 paid conversions through Stripe. That's 555 conversion events. On server-track-lab that is inside the free 1,000; at 5,000 events a month it would be CA$8. Elevar isn't really designed for this company: none of those events are store orders, and connecting a non-Shopify backend means the API framework on Premium[1]. Now flip it: a Shopify store with 3,000 orders a month that wants Meta, Google Ads and Klaviyo fed from a complete ecommerce data layer should look at Elevar's Advanced plan first. server-track-lab would only cover the purchase event, and only to Meta for now.
Can I use both?
Yes, if you sell on Shopify and run a separate SaaS or lead-gen funnel. Let Elevar handle store orders, and send B2B events (demo booked, subscription started) through server-track-lab. Don't send the same conversion to the same platform from both tools, and keep one event_id per conversion so Meta can deduplicate against your Pixel.
Honest status of server-track-lab (Oct 21, 2026)
- Meta Conversions API: live, sent with your own pixel ID and access token.
- Google: Data Manager API validate-only preview. Google validates the request; no conversions are recorded yet.
- LinkedIn: dry-run. The payload is built and shown in your event log but not sent.
- Stripe webhook source: works and is covered by automated tests, but no real Stripe delivery has been proven yet.
- Pricing: the first 1,000 billed events each billing month are free; after that, CA$2 per 1,000 billed events.
FAQ
Has Elevar been renamed Audiense Online?
Partly. Elevar's own site now redirects to audiense.com, and Audiense's About page says all legacy Elevar features and tools are still available as part of Audiense Online. Audiense's July 2026 announcement says Elevar will remain a product name, and the product page says Audiense Online is powered by Elevar. So: the product line is Audiense Online, and Elevar is still the name of the tracking product inside it (checked Oct 21, 2026).
Is server-track-lab an Elevar replacement for a Shopify store?
No. Elevar ships a prebuilt Shopify data layer, Shopify Markets support, consent integrations and dozens of ecommerce destinations. server-track-lab has no Shopify app and no browser data layer. If you run a Shopify store, Elevar is built for you.
How does the pricing compare?
Elevar prices by orders: Base is $0 a month for up to 100 orders, Core $225 for 2,000, Advanced $650 for 10,000, Premium $1,250 for 30,000 and Elite from $3,000 for 75,000, with per-order overage and a 15-day free trial on paid plans (currency not stated on the page). server-track-lab prices by the conversion events you send: the first 1,000 billed events each billing month are free, then CA$2 per 1,000.
Does Elevar work for B2B leads and SaaS signups?
It can send to Meta, Google Ads and LinkedIn, and documents enhanced conversions for leads for Google Ads. But its plans are counted in orders, its setup starts from a commerce platform, and non-Shopify platforms use its API framework, which is listed on the Premium plan and above. For lead, signup and subscription events from your own backend, a per-event API is usually a closer fit.
Does server-track-lab send to Google Ads and LinkedIn today?
Not live yet. Meta Conversions API forwarding is live with your own pixel and access token. Google runs through the Data Manager API as a validate-only preview: Google checks the request but nothing is recorded. LinkedIn is a dry-run that builds the payload without sending it. Elevar documents live destinations for all three.
Is the Stripe source production-proven?
Not yet. The Stripe webhook source verifies signatures, dedupes on the Stripe object and maps checkout, subscription and invoice events, and automated tests cover it, but no real Stripe delivery has been proven yet.
